FAQ

1) What is Ultimate?

Ultimate is an exciting, fast-paced, non-contact team sport played with a flying disc. Ultimate is distinguished by its Spirit of the Game

AKA best sport ever invented.  And non-contact is a relative term.

2) Melee? Mayhem! ? What?

Melee and Mayhem! are UT’s women’s Ultimate teams. While both teams are competitive, Melee requires a bigger time commitment than Mayhem. But both Melee and Mayhem are crazy fun! UT women’s Ultimate is a club that competes nationally in intercollegiate tournaments . We’ve traveled to tournaments all over the country, played the best teams in the country, and maybe if you’re lucky someone will make the best mistake ever…

3) Does it matter that I’ve never played before?

No way! The rules of ultimate are pretty simple to pick up. And we all have to start somewhere, right? Players of all skill and experience levels are welcome.

4) Alright, so I’m interested. When and where do yall practice?

(Whitaker Fields, IM fields…whatever you want to call them) on 51st and Guadalupe.

Melee practices Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00pm-9:00pm and Saturdays, 8:00am-noon.

Mayhem practices Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 6:30pm – 9:00pm.

Bring a white and dark shirt (gray and tie dye don’t count as either), cleats if you have them (and you’ll definitely want cleats if you don’t have any, unless you like getting pwned and falling flat on your face), and water. We’ll provide the rest!

5) Can I get a scholarship?

Yes. But it has to be for something other than playing Ultimate.
